Codding Enterprises

Hugh Codding, founder of Codding Enterprises, began building homes in the 1930’s. A true visionary and entrepreneur, he created one of the first mixed-use developments by building offices atop retail stores in Santa Rosa. In 1950 Codding built Montgomery Village, Santa Rosa’s first large-scale shopping center, encompassed by a residential community of Codding’s conception. Next came Coddingtown Mall in 1960. Today, Codding Enterprises controls over two million commercial square feet.

Sonoma Mountain Village occupies 200 acres in Rohnert Park in Sonoma County, California, about 45 minutes north of San Francisco. It is an environmentally conscious Codding Enterprises community, combining new urbanism with sustainability. The company recently relocated its headquarters to Sonoma Mountain Village at 1400 Valley House Drive, Rohnert Park, demonstrating its commitment to this exciting new community.

Codding Enterprises has provided ongoing support to the efforts of the Climate Protection Campaign and is a partner with Climate Leaders as well as a member of the US Green Building Council.
